Observer IV: Observations of the human family.

A seemingly normal family if you look at a family photograph, the observer chose this particular family from the beginning though the reasons be unknown to all but the observer and interestingly enough he may not even recall the reason this family was chosen.

The structure of the family is so complex yet it starts as simple a basic animalistic instinct.  Mothers, the nurturing protectors of the young.  Fathers, the protector of its’ mate and home or territory, the provider, serving the needs of the family/den/pack/pride/ext.  And the young, helpless at first, relying on the mother, then learning the way of things as they grow, much is learned from wrestling with siblings, this is how the young learn to defend and hunt for themselves.  This is what is observed as the basic instincts of most of warm-blooded life on this planet called Earth by its’ inhabitants.

The human, capable of higher thinking, strangely, though capable, not often making use of the thought power of the human mind, often tries to remove the basic instincts.  They do this as not to be like animals, but in doing so they become worse then the animals they are trying not to be. For they remove the instincts to function as a family unit, and the instinct to use only what is needed to survive.  Yet they leave the instinct to hunt, fight, devour, and be territorial; and then, after they tear away the instinct, they replace them with completely unnatural ones…like greed, selfishness, and hate.  And so they continue in that fashion…never in all of nature has the observer seen any other animal, besides the humans, kill one of its’ own race…

In this particular family, though it seem more normal then many and perhaps is in some ways, the members of the family Love each other as a family is meant to, but yet, they hurt the ones they Love the most, mentally more then anything else, though in this particular family none hold much greed in their hearts, there is still much selfishness in all but the Mother.  The selfishness has thus begat much hate, anger, and animosity amidst all the members.  The selfishness blinds each individual to the motives and feelings of the others.  The Mother, always the mediator, completely selflessly, always continually trying to hold the family together.  All the others are blinded by their selfishness as to what their individual vises are doing to the Mother, taking her for granted until her presence is endangered.  What would happen to the family as a whole when at last mortality takes the Mother from them?
